Some of your responsibilities would include
-
Assessing client's physical status, functional abilities, needs, and goals to improve, maintain or support physical performance.

Developing short and long term goals to help clients achieve optimal health outcomes.

Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team on issues that will affect the care, transfer and discharge plan for residents
-
Participate in maintaining quality client care by identifying appropriate referrals for physiotherapy services and supporting family participation in the development, implementation and ongoing modification of the care plan.

Providing educational in-services to a range of healthcare teams and attend care meetings

Implements a rehabilitation program with the client as directed by the PT and/or OT

Promotes maximum independence of the client in the care-site

Basic equipment maintenance

Completing detailed paperwork to document the client's progress

Provide support to PT/OT

Complete other tasks as requested

Some of your responsibilities would include

Provides occupational therapy to clients of all ages with acute, rehabilitative, chronic, and/or palliative health care needs in community-based settings;

Educate clients, caregivers, and staff regarding rehabilitation interventions;

Advocate for clients with community agencies and funding sources;
-
Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities by assisting
-
with the development, evaluation, and monitoring of policies, procedures and standards related to occupational therapy as well as generating alternative appropriate approaches.

Education, Training and Experience:

Provisional or Registered Occupational Therapist
-
Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia;
-
Related clinical experience in community or home health setting; considered an asset
